How do I connect my Strava account?
Click the "Connect with Strava" button on our homepage. You'll be redirected to Strava to authorize TrailSpeak. After authorization, you'll be redirected back to your dashboard where you can start generating narratives for your activities.
What Strava data does TrailSpeak access?
TrailSpeak only accesses activity data that you explicitly authorize, including:
- Activity name, type, and date
- Distance, duration, pace, and speed
- Elevation gain and loss
- Heart rate data (if available)
- Power and cadence (if available)
- Your profile name and photo
How does TrailSpeak handle my data?
Your privacy is our priority. We process activity data in real-time to generate narratives and DO NOT permanently store your activity details in our database. We only cache basic profile information (name and photo) for session management. We never sell or share your data with third parties.
How do I disconnect TrailSpeak from Strava?
You can disconnect TrailSpeak in two ways:
- In TrailSpeak: Go to your dashboard, click on your profile dropdown, and select "Sign Out"
- In Strava: Go to Settings → My Apps → TrailSpeak → Revoke Access
Why can't I see all my activities?
TrailSpeak loads your most recent activities first. You can load more activities by clicking "Load More" at the bottom of your activity list. If you're missing recent activities, try refreshing your activities using the refresh button on your dashboard.
How do narrative subscriptions work?
TrailSpeak offers a freemium model. Free users get a limited number of narratives per month. Premium subscribers get unlimited narratives, access to all narrative styles (Coach, Epic, Storyteller, Casual), and premium text-to-speech features. Check our pricing page for current plans.
What languages does TrailSpeak support?
TrailSpeak currently supports English and Spanish for both narratives and the user interface. You can switch languages using the language selector in the top navigation.
Troubleshooting Strava Connection
Having trouble connecting to Strava? Try these steps:

Make sure you're logged into Strava
Visit strava.com and ensure you're signed in before connecting

Clear your browser cache and cookies
Sometimes cached data can interfere with the OAuth process

Try using an incognito/private browser window
This helps isolate browser extension conflicts

Check if you previously revoked TrailSpeak access
Go to Strava Settings → My Apps and remove any previous TrailSpeak authorizations
